Woman's Way Rally
January 4, 2003 -- Chattanooga, TN
We had the Woman's Way Tulip/gimmick rally ahead of the riverboat
party. We had 14 cars for the largest turnout in recent history for a
CRSCCA Rally. The event was lots of fun for the competitors and for Janice
as Rally Mistress. The Winners were Art and Ruthie who proved to have the
correct twisted mindset for the rally. Woman's
Way Results GSCC Rally -- Atlanta, GA
January 26 was the first GSCC rally
of the year. It was a trapped distance only event in historic parts of
downtown Atlanta. Interesting landmarks included the Coca Cola mansion and
The Jimmy Carter plaza. Also, the neighborhood where my navigator Robert
Harvey grew up in. Robert and I got second to Marty Freidman and Tom Grieg
in equipped class. Fred Hollinger and his driver Jim took first overall
and first in Stock class. There were several novice teams – some coming
all the way from Florida. It was nice to see the sport begin a re-growth
in the Southeast. At the party afterwards there was much reminiscing about
80 car fields from the 70's and what could be done to revive the
sport. The next area rallies are the Valentine
Picture rally in Bell Buckle on February 15 and The Go West Rally in
Atlanta on February 16. -- Mike Strawbridge
