Well, the first event of the 1998 BFGoodrich Team T/A - Southeast Divisional SOLO II Championship Series is history with most of the 126 entrants enjoying the J.G. Pasterjak designed courses in the main parking lot of Disney Worlds Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida held the weekend of May 16-17. Special thanks go out to Terry Keller of the Martin Sports Car Club of Orlando for arranging the use of Disneys parking lot and Shannon & Gelly Parris and the rest of CFRs membership for hosting a great event.
In an effort to save printing and postage costs, this entry flyer contains the event information for the remaining two events of the 1998 BFGoodrich Team T/A - Southeast Divisional SOLO II Championship Series. The second event of the series will be hosted by the Chattanooga Region the weekend of July 11-12 in the parking lot of Dade County High School in Trenton Georgia, which is located in the far Northwest corner of Georgia, in the shadow of Lookout Mountain, about 15 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. The third and final event of the series is scheduled for the weekend of August 1-2 and will be hosted by the Atlanta Region in the newly enlarged parking lot of Atlanta Motor Speedway, which is located about 18 miles south of Atlantas Airport.
It is becoming common practice for the hosting regions to use their Divisional event as a points event for their own local regional series. This year, the Divisional events may offer classes normally found at the hosting Regions local events. However, SEDIV SOLO II Championship Points will not be awarded for these special classes and there will not be Novice/Rookie classes offered. Remember, SCCA Divisional SOLO II events require ALL entrants to be members of SCCA and there are no provisions for a reduced entry fee for running just one day. If you want to run just one day, it will cost the same as two days. Be sure to pre-register to avoid a $20 late fee.
Carl Blevins, Webmaster for the Chattanooga Region, has done an excellent job of keeping the Chattanooga Regions web site up-to-date with the latest SEDIV SOLO II event information including event results and series point standings. With the help of Central Florida Regions Shannon Parris, there is also an emailable entry form for the SEDIV SOLO II Events located on the Chattanooga Regions web site. Remember, to save yourself money and hassle, be sure to PRE-REGISTER for the events by Thursday prior to the event. The regular $40 event entry fee for faxed and emailed entries is paid at event registration and there is absolutely NO penalty for pre-registering and then not showing up. Posted on the Chattanooga Regions web site is event information, entry forms, event results, points standings and online registration for all events of the BFGoodrich Team T/A - Southeast Divisional SOLO II Championship Series. Be sure to check out http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/ChattanoogaRegion/
IMPORTANT NOTE: In your June issue of SPORTSCAR is a postcard ballot for changes to the clubs bylaws. Please remove this ballot, vote and mail it in. Support of the amendments will help to establish a second area in the SEDIV and entitle the SEDIV to an additional director / vote on the SCCA Board of Directors. Ballots must be returned by July 15th, so please vote early and vote often.
Be sure to thank our sponsors.

(April 1998)
Dear SCCA SOLO II Competitor,
I want to thank BFGoodrich Team T/A and SF Motorsports for again sponsoring the Southeast Divisional SOLO II Championship Series. The 1998 BFGoodrich Team T/A - Southeast Divisional SOLO II Championship Series will continue with the three (3) event format. Enclosed is the entry form for the first event of the 1998 BFGoodrich Team T/A - Southeast Divisional SOLO II Championship Series, which is to be hosted by the Central Florida Region in the main parking lot of Disney Worlds Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida the weekend of May 16-17. Bring the family, send them to Disney theme parks, while you play in the parking lot.
I want to thank Terry Keller of the Martin Sports Car Club of Orlando for arranging for our use of Epcot Center parking lot with Disney management. Terry was very diligent in working with the various entities at Disney and endured many phone calls from me. He was the main organizer of the Florida State Autocross Championship event held there last fall which drew 200 cars. Be sure to pre-register for this event at least a week in advance in order to insure receiving a parking pass and Disney related material by mail.
The second event of the 1998 BFGoodrich Team T/A - Southeast Divisional SOLO II Championship Series is scheduled to be hosted by the Chattanooga Region the weekend of July 11-12 in the very large parking lot of Dade County High School in Trenton Georgia, which is located in the far NW corner of Georgia, in the shadow of Lookout Mountain, about 15 minutes from Chattanooga. There was a change in management at the Chattanooga Auto Auction and the new management doesnt want us to use their site. Barring any site related issues, the third and final event of the series is scheduled for the weekend of August 1-2 and will be hosted by Atlanta Region in the newly enlarged parking lot of Atlanta Motor Speedway. Scott Schleh and Sandy Luck will again provide their coveted limited edition car sculpture trophies for the series and they have created several new cars for 1998. Collect em all.
IMPORTANT NOTES: It is becoming common practice for the hosting regions to use their Divisional event as a points event for their own local regional series. This year, the Divisional events may offer classes normally found at the hosting Regions local events. However, SEDIV SOLO II Championship Points will not be awarded for these special classes and there will not be Novice/Rookie classes offered. Remember, SCCA Divisional SOLO II events require ALL entrants to be members of the SCCA.
If you want to save yourself money and hassle, be sure to PRE-REGISTER for all the events. There is absolutely NO penalty for pre-registering and then not showing up. You can pre-register once for ALL three events, just check ALL the events you hope to attend on the registration form. The Chattanooga Region and Central Florida Region web sites will soon have links to the latest information about the SEDIV SOLO II Championship Series. Posted on these web sites will be entry forms, event results, points standings and online registration.
