1997 Southeast Divisional Solo II

Supplemental Regulations

This event will be conducted under the current SCCA Solo I & II Rules in addition to the following:

ENTRANT ELIGIBILITY:

  1. This event is open to SCCA members only. SCCA membership application forms are available at Registration.
  2. Each event entrant must present their valid SCCA membership card or a completed SCCA membership application form at Registration.
  3. Each event entrant must present their valid driver's license at Registration.
  4. Each event entrant must present a current copy of the SCCA SOLO I & II Rules at Registration.
  5. Maximum of two drivers in a single car will be allowed to compete in each class.
  6. Minor competitors (under the age of 19), must present a "Minor Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement" (Form #9724) signed by each parent/guardian with custody. A copy of this agreement must be presented before admission to the site will be granted.

VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY:

  1. Open to vehicles conforming to SCCA SOLO II Rules or GCR regulations.
  2. Tires on vehicles competing in the Stock and Street Prepared categories must have tread depth conforming to SCCA SOLO II Rule 13.3.I-J. Tires will be marked at tech.
  3. All vehicles must be adequately muffled to conform to SOLO II Rule 3.5 and conform to SCCA GCR Appendix N
  4. All F440 type vehicles must follow GCR pit / paddock procedures

VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION:

  1. Vehicle number and class identification must conform to SCCA SOLO II Rule 3.7. NO SHOE POLISH allowed.
  2. Numbers are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
  3. A SCCA SOLO Events decal is required to be displayed on both sides of the vehicle in a proper manner. In addition, it may be required that an official SCCA / SEDIV approved National / Divisional sponsorship decal(s) must be displayed on both sides of the vehicle in a proper manner.

TECH INSPECTION PROCEDURES:

  1. Tech inspection is required per published schedule.
  2. Vehicles may be teched on trailers.
  3. Tech lanes will be formed unless otherwise noted.
  4. Tires will be teched and marked. Marked tires are not protestable after the car makes its first competition run. You may tech as many tires as you feel you may need.
  5. Helmets will be teched and must conform to Rule 4.3.A.
  6. Cars spilling fluids during the event will be examined by a tech inspector.

IMPOUND PROCEDURES:

  1. All vehicles are required to report to Impound on both days of competition. After your last run on each day proceed directly to the Impound area. Do not return to the pit / paddock area.
  2. All vehicles are required to remain In Impound for at least thirty (30) minutes AND until released by Chief of Impound.
  3. The driver of each vehicle or a designated substitute must remain in the Impound Area during the Impound Period.

TIMING AND SCORING:

  1. Times will be available after each run at the earliest possible opportunity by public announcement and posting.
  2. See the Event Chairman or Chief of Scoring to ask Timing and Scoring questions. Do not go near the Timing and Scoring areas or bother the Timing and Scoring personnel.
  3. For each run a competitor does not stage, a DNS will be scored.
  4. Any uncorrected course deviations or unnecessarily delaying of the avant will be scored as a DNF.
  5. NO TIRE WARM-UPS of any kind are allowed. Violators will be disqualified and will be scored as a DSQ.
  6. NO PASSENGERS ALLOWED during competition runs.

COURSE MARKERS:

  1. Directional pylons do not count if hit. If a directional pylon displaces a penalty pylon, the penalty pylon will be assessed.
  2. A penalty will be assessed for each displaced course entry and course exit pylon.
  3. Pylon penalties will be assessed in accordance with SCCA SOLO II Rule 7.9.A.

ENTRANTS AS WORKERS:

  1. In compliance with SCCA SOLO II Rule 6.1, all competitors are required to work the event
  2. Qualified replacements may be used as substitutes in worker assignments. However, substitute workers must notify the Chief of their assignment area of the substitution and sign the waiver form if they have not already done so.
  3. Entrant's failure to report and perform work assignments will result in disqualification and will be scored as a DSQ.

SAFETY:

  1. A speed limit of 15mph will be enforced at the event site.
  2. A minor (under the age of 19) participating as a guest, crew, event specialist and/or volunteer is required to have on file with SCCA Risk Management a "Minor Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement” (Form #9717) signed by each parent/guardian with custody. A copy of this agreement must be presented before admission to site will be granted.
  3. Children and pets are allowed anywhere on the event site except during active competition. During active competition, children and pets are not allowed in the grid, staging, or course areas. Pets must be leashed at all times.
  4. Drivers are responsible for the actions of their children, pets, crew and guests.
  5. Everyone must sign the waiver at which time, they will be given a wristband which must be visible at all times.

PROTEST AND APPEALS:

  1. Protest / Appeal forms are available from the Chief Steward. 2. Before filing a protest, entrants should be familiar with the SOLO II Rules governing the filing of Protests and Appeals. Especially the section concerning the time limits for filing.
  2. Protests and appeals must be filed with the Protest Committee Chairman or Chief Steward and (except for protests and appeals from the Chief of Impound or Chief Steward) must be accompanied by the appropriate protest and appeal fee in cash or traveler's check.
  3. Bonds, if required by SCCA SOLO II Rule 8.3.2, are due in cash or traveler's check.
  4. In accordance to SCCA SOLO II ruler, appeals will be heard, after the event, by a National SOLO Appeals Committee that may include members of the National SOLO Events Board.

SEDIV SOLO II CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES POINTS:

  1. Only SCCA members belonging to the SCCA Regions that are located within the SCCA's Southeast Division are eligible for SEDIV SOLO II Championship Series points and awards.
  2. SEDIV SOLO II Championship Series points will be awarded in each class, for each event and accumulated during the year.
  3. Points will be awarded in each class for First Place through Sixth Place on the baris of 9-6-4-3-2-1. Each competing entrant will be awarded at least one (1) championship point.
  4. A Southeast Divisional SOLO II Champion, for each class, will be determined by the total number of championship points accumulated, by each competitor for ALL events of the series.
  5. Participation in at least TWO (2) events of the series, in the same class, is required to be eligible for a SEDIV SOLO II Championship. Only ONE (1) SEDIV SOLO II Championship award will be awarded for each class.
  6. Ties for place will be broken by adding together the times from each event the competitors attended simultaneously. The lowest combined time will determine the championship.
  7. SEDIV SOLO II Championship Series Awards will be awarded at the SEDIV Banquet held January 1998 in Jekyll Island, GA.
